I'm a travel agent!

A few days ago I met a friend from school and she asked me what do you do, I answered "together with my husband we have a Tour Operator Agency" after asking what packages we offer, prices, etc. ... she told me: ah? what a simple profession you chose !!!!

I said to myself: Of course it's simple, I just have to:

• Know Sales
• I have to understand Accounting, I. G. V withholdings, taxes.
• Of course knowing public relations, Marketing, and Business administration
• Have basic knowledge of Engineering in order to know what structure each hotel, city, etc. has.
• Know aviation, the keywords from a to z of aviation that is the main thing.
• I must know about Meteorology, because it is obvious that I have to consider the conditions of the weather during their stay of passengers.
• Geography is my second strong suit. How can I not know where Petra is? (in Egypt by the way).
• Have a super baster master in psychology, to understand that what the passenger asks for does not mean that it is what they want.
• Keeping secrets and confessions of those who go with lovers, girlfriends (you) playing cupid also counts.
• I must exercise my memory in order to remember addresses, ID number, frequent traveler code, names and ages of each of the members of a family.
• I must know and understand at least a few languages.
• * Of course, I must remember the confirmation code for a reservation that was made two years ago, even if the passenger does not remember it or keep his copy, or if he made it with his last name or that of his first husband.
• * For me it is no problem to find 1 suites connected in a non-smoking area and each one with two beds, and I totally agree that it is my fault that the hotel does not have a recreation area or swimming pools.
• Of course I am lying when I tell you that there are no more places at the cheapest rate and that there are no longer rooms available for Easter 2 days in advance.
• I am able to check the rate for three people, make six reservations and answer fifteen calls, all at the same time, just to achieve the sale of a circuit.
• Of course I know how long it takes to walk from your hotel outside the city center to an alpaca shop in the main square and what the weather will be like in 3 weeks.
• I must know all the holidays and non-working days it is not going to be that when you arrive this is a holiday or there is a strike and the fault is mine.
• I will have to know how many ATMs there are around the place where you will stay so that you do not take risk when withdrawing cash.
• I must always take your word for it and the minors to whom you want 50% of the rate to apply are within the range that you say and not that stated on the identity document that you must bring me.
• I am responsible for the bad food on the plane, for the bad treatment of any flight attendant, for excess air traffic and corresponding delays, for strikes, for the additional charge for insurance taken when I buy a package, because you have not obtained your visa even though I told him 3 times, because of the overbooking of tickets.
• I am responsible because he imagined that his room would be bigger, for the cleaning of the room, because he had to be operated on and he did not have insurance and he does not remember that I offered it to him.
• How do you think I'm going to get upset when after spending more than "10 hours" quoting your trip and itinerary, you tell me that "I already booked it online and saved more than half". And of course I never get angry when I receive a call to my cell phone at midnight to tell me that the company I book is not answering and that you are lying "in the middle of nowhere" in the middle of nowhere).
• I am responsible because you did not give me a contact number at your destination and they changed your return and they had no where to notify you, in addition to the fact that you did not call to reconfirm your flight because the number I gave you did not answer.

For me it is a pride to be a Travel Agent ...

I rejoice when people come to me and expect me to know by heart the airfare of Lima /, Cusco or international flights and the flight frequencies between Cuzco and Lima, I feel happy when I cannot enjoy a moment of tranquility anywhere without someone wanting to prepare the entire vacation trip you plan to do in 5 years. I love it when everyone assumes that I travel anywhere in the world "for free" and I know all the places that I offer

We smile, we apologize and do not throw in the towel when our boss (husband) calls us at the office to talk very seriously about the quote that a client asked us, who still does not have precise dates or number of people but what he wanted for yesterday, despite knowing that we were busy selling a group that already has a subscription and that it was in the broadcasting time limit. I smile, I empathize, I sympathize, I comfort, I listen, I cajole, I change, I go up, down, I cross, I fight with the operator, I battle with the airline, I smile again.

Stupefied from thinking so much? I just thought my profession is really simple! ...

I am proud to have made the most important decision of my life and to love this profession !!!!
